Book tickets to exclusive screenings of Molokai: The Story of Father Damien

“Stories can change us. Stories can change our outlook,” says actor David Wenham, reflecting on his leading role as Molokai’s Father Damien.

This story certainly can.

Visually spectacular, Molokai tells the true story of Damien, an inspiring, trail-blazing nineteenth-century priest, who voluntarily moved to a Hawaiian leprosy settlement to care for the people there.
Book here for tickets to 10 exclusive charity screenings of Molokai in support of The Leprosy Mission Australia.

Special events to mark historic milestones
The Leprosy Mission is celebrating its 150th anniversary by shining a light on our opportunity to make leprosy a thing of the past. Fittingly, 2024 is also the film’s 25th anniversary and the 15th anniversary of Father Damien’s canonization.

Leprosy is still a thing – but it doesn’t have to be

“Leprosy is still a thing,” says Greg Clarke, CEO of The Leprosy Mission Australia.  “Every 2 minutes, someone is diagnosed with leprosy.”

“Today, leprosy is curable. It wasn’t in the time of Father Damien.”

For the first time in history, ending the spread of leprosy over the next decade is possible.

“We need compassionate people to help us finish the job and finally end leprosy transmission,” Clarke says.

It’s an opportunity not to be missed.
